In Matthew 9:1–8, friends bring a paralyzed man to Jesus, not knowing what to expect — but Jesus sees beyond the surface. Before He addresses the man’s physical condition, He speaks to the deeper need of his soul:

“Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.”

This moment not only shocked the crowd — it offended the religious leaders, who questioned Jesus' authority. In response, Jesus heals the man’s body as proof that He has the power to heal the heart.

Pastor Kelly will challenge us to consider: Are we more concerned with external needs than internal transformation? And do we truly believe that Jesus has the authority to forgive sin?
